Les Patineurs (“The Ice Skaters”, in German “Der Schlittschuhläufer-Walzer”), Op. 183, is a waltz by Émile Waldteufel. Composed in 1882, it was inspired by the rink of skaters at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The waltz’s introduction reflects the grace of a skater, while its lively sections evoke a wintry scene. Bells enhance the winter atmosphere, creating a magical soundscape.
