Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov was a Russian composer famous for his colourful and imaginative music. He was part of a group called The Five, who wanted to create a unique Russian style of classical music.
Although he started his career in the navy, music was his true passion. He became a professor at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, where he taught many future famous composers.
Rimsky-Korsakov is best known for pieces like Scheherazade, Flight of the Bumblebee, and Capriccio Espagnol. His music often told stories and used rich orchestral sounds, making it exciting and magical to listen to.
