Gilad Hochman, born on 26 July 1982 in Herzliya, is an Israeli composer now based in Berlin. His musical journey began when he was just six years old, starting with piano lessons, and by nine, he was composing his own pieces. After finishing school at the Herzeli’ya Music Conservatory, where he studied with accomplished musicians, Hochman graduated with honours from the Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv in 2007.
His music has received much acclaim, being described as fascinating and original. Esteemed institutions and critics have noted his unique ability to create musical pieces that delve into deep emotions, often reflecting his Israeli roots and Jewish traditions. One of his notable compositions, “Whom My Soul Loveth,” features a cello accompanied by a choir and explores themes of human yearning, inspired by ancient texts. Hochman’s works are performed globally, showcasing his growing influence in the world of classical music.
