Al Green was born in Arkansas in 1946 and grew up loving music. As a boy, he sang with his sister and later joined a school group. In the early 1970s, his soulful voice made songs like Let’s Stay Together and Tired of Being Alone very popular. These records sold well and helped him become a star. He worked closely with producer Willie Mitchell, who helped him find his own sound.
Later, Green changed direction after becoming a pastor. He began to sing gospel music, which is music with religious words and a joyful message. In 1995 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he won many Grammy Awards for his singing. Green did not stop making music. He returned with new songs, duets and albums, showing that people can change and still succeed. His life story includes fame, faith and music that touched many listeners.
